CHRISTMAS FUNDRAISING FEAST AT ATLANTIC HOTEL - ALL WELCOME

Sustainable Wales is planning another fabulous 'Christmas Feast' at the Atlantic Hotel, Porthcawl, on Thursday, December 15th 7.30pm.
Ethical Feasts are now becoming one of the local highlights, as well as providing funds for Sustainable Wales and a fantastic evening out. This is superb chance to bring guests, book a table together and join in the Christmas festivities, meet new people and dress up for the occasion.

We will be enjoying a 3-course meal and this year will include entertainment from our musical guests. The hotel’s chef will prepare a selection of delicious dishes using local sourced, organic and fairly traded ingredients.

The event will start with a drinks reception, progress over three courses, finishing off with coffee and chocolates from SUSSED. The musicians will complete the evening. This is an evening not to be missed - interest is high. Please don your best for the occasion.

‘Mouth to Mouth: a Celebration between two rivers’ highlights art and artists in Bridgend.

Immediate release. 10.4.11

‘Mouth to Mouth’, a statement of art and community by people who live between the mouths of the rivers Cynffig and Ogmore, is organized by members of ‘ Arts For The Earth ’ and is funded by the Arts Council of Wales.

It features artists who perform and collaborate at ‘The Green Room’ in Porthcawl, 41 John Street, Porthcawl. Events include (see advert below).

Margaret Minhinnick of ‘Sustainable Wales’ said today: “‘Mouth to Mouth’ is a testament to local people who recognize they are lucky to live in a unique part of the world, and wish to celebrate its history and vibrant present.

‘The arts are vital to any definition of ‘sustainability’. What is art, but a description of what it means to be human?

“We’re pleased that Mouth to Mouth means our artists visit other parts of Bridgend county borough.

“The public is invited to all events. And we would like to hear from anyone else interested in joining ‘Arts for the Earth’ at our regular meetings. It’s an exciting development in local life.”

WMD: A performance of new material as part of the Green Room event “Mouth to Mouth” in May 2011 at Bauhuas in Bridgend, S Wales on Saturday 28 May. Startlingly new material will be performed with Rhian Edwards (vocals, Uke etc.). This collaboration will be created under a new moniker. And possibly hats. We may well be joined by other musicians - check back for more information soon. Part of the Arts for the Earth Arts Council of Wales sponsored series of events.

ARTS FOR THE EARTH* ‘GREEN ROOM’ LAUNCH backs the 10:10:10 (www.1010global.org/uk) global action day on Climate Change. October 8th, Grand Pavilion from 7.30pm. Organisers say the evening promises to surprise, exhilarate, engage, enthuse and enlighten. Tickets £6.00 and £4.00

Sustainable Wales’s Director, Margaret Minhinnick, says of the new arts initiative: “The Green Room brings two crucial areas of life together – environmental concern and the human imagination. We depend on them utterly for everything that’s best in our culture. They are inextricably linked.

Supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the Grand Pavilion we trust local people will support it. “Further ‘Green Room’ events will be taking place through autumn and spring. These will include leading arts practitioners from Wales, involve performances and also intimate conversations and interviews”.

“The arts are vital in any expression of concern regarding our current climate emergency. The event takes place 2 days in advance of the international day of action on climate change to convince people to cut their carbon emissions by 10% in 2010.” (www.1010global.org/uk )

Weren’t you in the Wogans a rather odd song recorded in December 1985 has been turd polished and electroplated in chrome. Two versions are available to download, a 256kbps MP3 and a much larger Apple Lossless format version at 25.3mb. The Lossless version can be played in VLC and iTunes.

Krell musicians have been at it again - another turd polish with a new mix of NYR placed on the music downloads page for the Incredible Tractors. This mix is a wide stereo master with added chrome.

Now lossless CD quality Panzerknacker songs are available on Molebomb. The lossless format produces files which are CD quality but not as large as the normal CD quality files (wav or aiff). The type used at present is Apple Lossless a type of MP4 (AAC encoded) file, which can be played in iTunes. Eventually albums will be also encoded in the open source flac format also. The files are larger than a typical “MP3” however, typically being over 20mb each. Anew page in the music download section has been created to store these beautiful sparkling moments of audio ecstasy. Ahem.

Two mixes of Walkthrough Pigboy; shorter with new drums etc. The differences is in the final sound: the ‘fat’ mix uses some extensive multi compression on the track - it's a little extreme but very punchy and the ‘final’ mix is similar but different freq emphasis less bombastic in feel.

Added more songs to the downloads section. New Year's Revelation from Incredible Tractors (vintage 1987 amazingly) has been remixed from the original multitrack tape and you can now hear the monster from the id much more clearly.

A new Panzerknacker song, Spatula Message, with vocals and a new mix, is available for download, and on the Reverbnation Player. A short odd song experimenting with the slightly spooky Alex speech synthesis has been hammered onto the various section page.

A higher quality AAC version is also available, this will play in iTunes or similar.
