Event: Green Room 8th October

ARTS FOR THE EARTH* ‘GREEN ROOM’ LAUNCH backs the 10:10:10 (www.1010global.org/uk) global action day on Climate Change. October 8th, Grand Pavilion from 7.30pm. Organisers say the evening promises to surprise, exhilarate, engage, enthuse and enlighten. Tickets £6.00 and £4.00

Sustainable Wales’s Director, Margaret Minhinnick, says of the new arts initiative: “The Green Room brings two crucial areas of life together – environmental concern and the human imagination. We depend on them utterly for everything that’s best in our culture. They are inextricably linked.

Supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the Grand Pavilion we trust local people will support it. “Further ‘Green Room’ events will be taking place through autumn and spring. These will include leading arts practitioners from Wales, involve performances and also intimate conversations and interviews”.

“The arts are vital in any expression of concern regarding our current climate emergency. The event takes place 2 days in advance of the international day of action on climate change to convince people to cut their carbon emissions by 10% in 2010.” (
